Are you interested in joining the faculty or staff of South Tulsa Academy?  We begin staffing for the following school year in January each year, but you are welcome to apply any time.  We are looking for enthusiastic, Christian teachers and staff from all backgrounds. We are excited to expand our educational community. Our goal is to create a professional space where employees love to come together and inspire students with a passion for education and the Lord. 

South Tulsa Academy's mission is to partner with parents to cultivate in students a passion for God, Christian character and a pursuit of wisdom.

Teacher Aide

  • Start Date: March 1st 2023

  • Hours: Tuesday & Thursday - 8:45am-3:15pm

Description: 

  • Supports the classroom teachers two days a week at school (Tuesday/Thursday)

  • Arrives 15 minutes before students arrive at school (Tuesday/Thursday)

  • Leaves 15 minutes after students leave (Tuesday/Thursday)

  • Complies with all of South Tulsa Academy policies and procedures and attends all required meetings including, but not limited to, faculty meetings, devotions, school functions and training.

  • Supports the teacher with lessons, units and projects to complete learning objectives.

  • Duties may include: taking attendance, filing, and keeping records; collecting funds and keeping accounts; supervising playground activities, lunchroom, quiet activities, etc. under teacher supervision; helping children with their clothes and with construction of bulletin boards, student work, displays, projects, etc.; escorting children to the office, and any other duties assigned by the school administrator.  

  • Adapts support methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of individual students.

  • Supports the classroom teacher by enforcing rules of behavior for students in the classroom. 

 

Qualification and Skills:

  • Personally attuned to the requirements of meeting needs of the students and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, other employees, and the public; demonstrates the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.

  • Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Leadership skills and patience for working with students of elementary age
